Seongsu is a neighborhood in Seoul that is often overlooked by tourists. It’s a shame, because it’s actually a hidden gem with a lot to offer. From trendy cafes and restaurants to unique boutiques and art galleries, Seongsu has something for everyone.

Getting There:
Getting to Seongsu is quite easy. You can take the subway to Seongsu Station, which is located on Line 2. From there, it’s just a short walk to the neighborhood.

Once you arrive in Seongsu, you’ll be greeted by a lively and charming neighborhood. There are plenty of things to see and do in Seongsu, so I’ll be sharing some of my favorites with you.

Cafes and Restaurants:
One of the highlights of Seongsu is its trendy cafes and restaurants. There are plenty of options to choose from, whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Some of my favorites include:

  • Café Onion: This cozy cafe is a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. They have a variety of drinks and snacks to choose from, and the atmosphere is very laid-back.
  • Kimchi jjigae: This is a popular Korean restaurant that serves delicious kimchi jjigae (a spicy stew made with kimchi and meat). The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.

Seongsu is also home to some unique boutiques and shops. If you’re looking for some one-of-a-kind souvenirs or gifts, be sure to check out these places:

  • Seoul Tool Library: This is a unique shop that sells tools and DIY supplies. They have a wide variety of tools and materials to choose from, and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
  • The Bohemian: This is a boutique that sells handmade jewelry and accessories. The designs are unique and stylish, and the prices are reasonable.

Art Galleries and Museums:
For art lovers, Seongsu has some great art galleries and museums to explore. Here are some of my recommendations:

  • ArtspaceHue: This is a contemporary art gallery that showcases the works of local and international artists. The exhibitions are always changing, so there’s always something new to see.
  • Leeum Samsung Museum of Art: This is one of the largest art museums in Korea, and it has a wide variety of artworks from different eras and cultures. The museum is located in a beautiful building, and the exhibits are well-presented.
